Research Focus

The IE2SPOMTF Members engage in research that focuses upon event correlation, via time synchronization, with a focus on oscillation detection and classification. Supported activities include related principles (e.g., System Analysis) and accepted theories (e.g., Probability Theory) in various fields as well as specifically chosen disciplines (e.g., Power Engineering). Accordingly, IE2SPOMTF Members collaborate with, among others, various Artificial Intelligence Labs, Digital Analytics Labs, Data Science and Machine Learning Labs, and Software Engineering Labs. Among other research areas, optimal analysis and decision calculus is a core research focus.

Energy Resiliency

IE2SPOMTF Members have engaged in a variety of energy resiliency-related research, such as in the areas of:

IE2SPOMTF Members have engaged in a variety of data analytics-related research, such as in the areas of:

• Data Quality Assessment and a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Engine for Power Outage Mitigation
• System Estimation Analysis and Sparse Data Proxy Actuation for the Electrical Grid
• Event Correlation and Analysis for Fault Diagnosis within a Power System
